Where to find it
Open Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. This shows your battery's Maximum Capacity as a percentage of its original capacity — a fresh battery starts at 100%, and that number drops gradually with age and charge cycles.
What the number means
A battery closer to 100% is considered strong. Apple flags "Significantly Degraded" when capacity has dropped substantially, and the same screen will tell you if peak performance capability is being managed because of the battery's condition. Neither of these is an error to fix before selling — they're just information worth having ready.
Why battery health matters for resale
A lower battery health percentage usually means the next owner will want a replacement sooner, so it's factored into what we can offer — the same way we'd factor in a cracked screen or scratched body. It's a normal part of a used device's life, not a red flag.
Does a lower number rule out a sale?
No — it's factored into your offer, not a disqualifier. We've bought plenty of iPhones with battery health well below 100%. Tell us the percentage when you WhatsApp your model so the estimated quote you get is already close to what the final offer will look like.
What if I can't access Settings?
If your screen is cracked badly enough that you can't navigate to the Battery Health menu, or the phone won't turn on at all, don't worry — just tell us that on WhatsApp. We can assess battery condition as part of the in-person or courier inspection instead.
